Whats your go to place in BR for BBQ? It seems we dont have a "true BBQ" restaurant.

I know Voodoo (meh) and Podnuhs.............which I used to really like Podnuhs but the last time I went to the BR location it was awful....and thats and understatement.

we really don't have a single good bbq place. podnuhs, tj ribs, and others are just ok. nothing great. smokin aces was below average when i went as well.

I was thinking the same thing......everything we have is very "commercial"

I'm fond of Sonny's. It has the right level of filth and smokey grime for a bbq experience. I've certainly had better in my travels, but to me their sliced pork is the best bbq in the metro. I'm a sucker for their crinkle cut fries as well. Always perfect. Crispy and fluffy

Pimanyoli's is my BBQ of choice in BR. I love the BBLTA sandwich.

my dad has a BBQ food truck...He's just starting to go out with it.

he has a BIG AZZ pit he hitches on the back, so all his food is cooked on site.

hes just starting to venture out.

Yep as far as I know. Great pulled pork. Brisket was much better last time than the first time.

I have been to Pimanyoli's a few times and it was bad each time. Undercooked ribs, overlooked brisket, average sides. The smoked sausage I had was pretty good. I'm willing to bet that the FDB pitmasters turn out better BBQ than any restaurants in Baton Rouge.

Pimanyoli's had a great pulled pork and sides when I went, hated their brisket.

Bushwood has a good pulled pork, and I dig all the sauce selections. Average everything else.
