I dunno how many chords are in Blue Jean Blues But, that's one awesome song.

They're good, but I can name about 60 better bands.

ZZ created an unmistakable sound and their earlier work is nothing short of iconic, but somewhere along the way they became animatronic bears.

Tres Hombres is a very good record (made me want to listen to it now) and I have a very low tolerance for white man blues... a little goes a very long way...

They also were able to take that Texas Blues sound and turn it into a MTV/80s phenomenon... good for them..

That said... middle of the road for me

They also lip synched their live shows.

I must rate ZZ Top as one of the worst concerts I've ever been to.

Saw a comedian at the old Casino Magic in Biloxi. He played guitar and started talking about trying to learn songs. He said he couldn't understand the beginning to "La Grange"

"I must of been rah, in that rah rah rah, in the rah outside rah rah, YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKIN' BOUT!"

Then he said, "no Billy I don't"

Funny, i saw them at the Virgin Free Fest this fall in DC, and they were better than 90% of the bands there, the only one I thought was better was Alabama Shakes.

I weep for the youth and supposed bands

Yes, many:
Allman Brothers
Led Zeppelin
The Beatles
ACDC
Foo Fighters
CCR
The Rolling Stones
Pearl Jam
and the list goes on...

Not saying ZZ Top is a bad band, but best is a hard thing to justify.

Yep, and considering how Jimi Hendrix himself picked Billy Gibbons to be one of THE guitar players to watch, you would have to say Gibbons and his band mates are a disappointment, we expected a lot more...
