Answer this for me...lets assume NOLA gets the 2018 bid. Can the power go out causing a 30+ minute delay again?

How exactly is it going to put a damper on future bids that makes zero sense

They now have to answer to power outages in their future bids...just like Dallas has to answer to logistical challenges. The more negatives you have to submit in a proposal, the less appealing the proposal becomes.

Again, I'm not saying NOLA shouldn't get the 2018 SB, or any future SB for that matter. I'm just saying it won't be as easy as one anticipated before 7pm or so yesterday.

Dude it was obviously a fluke. It's not like that would happen again in the year 2018.

Holding the seat fiasco Or freakish falling ice against cowboy stadium is equally ridiculous it's not an issue

A fluke that was apparently fixed in November?

I don't think you are understanding. The blackout won't happen again in 2018, but it did happen last night and as a result the NOLA SB Committee can't ignore it. They've now got to have a portion of their proposal dedicated to a negative event. That is never good. That is all I'm saying.

NFL knew about the potential blackout before the game and decided to keep the halftime show the way it was...

I didn't think it would. The best time I've ever had on a trip was during the 2008 Sugar Bowl, and we lost. That's how great a site the Super Dome is

ETA: And I'm a Falcons fan too. I try to differentiate the city/stadium from the team, something a lot of people confuse

I "liked" your post. :brohug:

Yeah I really don't get these over-the-top halftime shows. who likes these? I've never heard anything positive said about them anywhere.

The last one with mostly rave reviews was U2 and it was very modest compared to these other spectacles.

When has the power ever gone at a Superdome event?

yet it didn't stop Jersey from getting a super bowl and they have to answer logistics questions on top of weather questions on top of power questions

They put out a non-competitive bid in November for $900k to upgrade known electrical issues with the Dome during periods of high-power demand.

Huh? He got the 2011 game. No sites past 2015 have been awarded.

Look New Orleans is clearly better than ever a medical corridor is booming Canal Street looks fantastic the French quarter has never been more vibrant and clean... To Say that something as minor and fluky as Beyoncé blowing out the power would be held against the New Orleans is insane

Has the power ever gone out in the Dome during an event?

And the 900k upgrade had absolutely nothing to do with the power going out. This was actually supposed to be the most energy efficient super bowl in history

He's talking about how the Dome has hosted over 1750 events in the main arena and this has never happened before. It was a fluke

Do you even read my posts? If it were possible, I'd want NOLA to host every year. I've said multiple times that they will host again as Goodell said. The question is now when will they host again and I'm of the belief that they can still host the 2018 SB but it won't be handed to them like most had anticipated before the blackout.
