Its school property. Letting him keep the pic would show that the school condones that behavior. The pic also probably violates the user agreement between the school and student as to what the computer is used for. A good move by the school.

What next? Will merely saying "gun" be as offensive as the N-bomb?

Since the laptop belongs to the school, the district policy states students are prohibited from “sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures,” and cannot access, send, create or forward pictures that are considered “harassing, threatening, or illegal.”

What in that picture is offensive, harassing, threatening or illegal?

I wonder what teachers will do when students start using the photo of Obama skeet shooting.

Are you really and truly so stupid that the image of a gun would make your sphincter pucker? That is exactly the manner in which the school is responding. A six year old girl was expelled for her school a few days ago for having a toy plastic gun on school property. She is not allowed to see her friends under the rules the school has established.

CITWIT...the nanny state is wonderful thing. The people creating these rules are the same people educating our children.

The White House sent out a loud warning about photoshopping the Oboes hunting pic. I might be a little too harsh in my view of that pic, but when a shotgun goes boom it will push your shoulder backwards at the ignition point, his is perfectly straight as the gases are seen exiting the barrel.

Although we cannot specifically discuss student discipline, we can certainly agree that violence in schools is a sensitive and timely issue. Students, parents and staff are on edge, and the daily news delivers more reasons for caution. All of us must work together to protect our kids and to cultivate an environment that is conducive to learning.

they couldn't have just asked him to change the picture?

Yes but that wouldn't have "cultivated the environment that is conducive to learning" that the liberalistas will control your every action and thought.

What kind of behavior are you talking about? The practice of choosing wallpaper pictures of your particular interest? Would they have suspended him if his wallpaper portrayed two gay guys kissing?

No, that is a politically correct photo to have as your screens wallpaper.
