I just watched the Pilot and it's not bad.

House of Cards
Ruthless and cunning, Congressman Francis Underwood (Oscar® winner Kevin Spacey) and his wife Claire (Robin Wright) stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wicked political drama penetrates the shadowy world of greed, sex, and corruption in modern D.C. Kate Mara (“American Horror Story”) and Corey Stoll (“Midnight in Paris”) costar in the first original series from David Fincher (“The Social Network”) and Beau Willimon (“The Ides of March”).

Watched 5 episodes today. Dirty politics, blackmail, sex, shady deals...probably just like the real DC. Wish I didn't have stuff to do, I could watch them all today.

I like the scene where Kate Mara's date wants to come up and she shoots it down with the quickness. I've said the exact same thing twice.

I've seen the trailer on Netflix and it looked solid. I'm a big fan of Kevin Spacey

I don't see how this model helps them. People can sign up for one month and burn through the season.

I love being able to do this but at the same time, if they can't make enough money off their investment, they will stop making their own content.

They're banking on people signing up, watching, seeing other shows, and stick with it.

I think.

Basically. They're selling the style. The "watch whatever you want, whenever you want, as much as you want" - style.

That's my take, at least.

Not sure it will help their bottom line. Heck, tons of people cancel HBO every year when their favorite series ends. Imagine being able to watch Game of thrones in one day.
