what would our second round pick have been had we got it back?

#45 overall?

We would be drafting a very Hitchhiker's Guide-esque 42nd. We draft last out of the 7-9 teams in the first round because of strength of schedule, but would draft first out of them in the 2nd round. We'd be the 9th team selecting in the 2nd, so really you can't get any more valuable. He's full of shite.

I'm still of the theory that the Saints became too popular too fast for the other big market owners to swallow. Dollars not headed their way as big as previous to the Saints popularity growth. Add the concussion lawsuits and we done. Goodell being a Goodell.

Jesus, some of you don't think before you post. Considering NFL teams share revenue, I don't think what you're saying could be correct. Sure other teams make more money than others, but this is more because of season tickets sells and other stuff like that. The Saints selling out their stadium or merchandise really doesn't hurt other teams. Goodell fricked us, imo, for two reasons.

1.

I definitely think that's one.

2. I don't think Goodell likes the Saints organization very much, because I don't think Payton and Loomis cared very much for him or didn't show him much respect. Can't say I blame them though.

yeah, that easily defeats his bullshite stance. I could see how it could be different if we finished above .500 or made the playoffs or something but this is total crap.

I totally understand the NFL shares revenue. So with that, if the larger markets aren't selling as much product and a smaller market starts to increase attention, it would stand to reason that revenues may decrease. Plus, you gonna tell me that some of these owners don't have big egos?

I stand with the Saints on this one.

If there is evidence, show it.

One man has completely invalidated my support of the office.

He has still provided no evidence that a bounty program occurred, yet he keeps up with the draconian sanctions.

The owners are completely worthless in this. If Goodell did it to the Saints, he can do it to anyone, especially the smaller market teams. No protocol or ability to appeal.

Goodell is horrible as a commissioner, a leader, and a person.

He is basically messing over Saints because of what he believes or claims happened and he has present no proof that hasn't been shot all to pieces. Someone needs to take this guy on.

The media are worthless, too.

This exactly.

When they first said it, I believed the NFL, because I respected the office. The more and more weeks that passed without real evidence, outside of William's insane speech, just kept aggravating me more and more. I get where there is smoke there is fire, but he was completely messing over a franchise. You don't do that on smoke, you do that with mounds and mounds of evidence.

he was considering was to allow the Saints to keep their second-round pick if it turned out to be more valuable than expected.
