Interesting thoughts from an MIP article on Vasquez

quote:

Greivis’ 9.3 assists per game is good enough for third place in the NBA behind former Hornet and current L.A. Clippers guard Chris Paul (9.7) and Boston’s Rajon Rondo (11.1).

...With Rondo ruled out for the season with an ACL tear, the gap between Paul and Vasquez is not that great. In fact, Vasquez already has more total assists on the season than Paul, who has missed some games due to injury.

If the stat trends hold true, it could come down to the wire on who the best assist man in the NBA is, and given how under-the-radar Vasquez has been because of the Hornets losing record, being the top assist man could change a lot of people’s thinking about the former 28th overall draft selection in 2010. It could also win him some post-season hardware too.

Iffy given CP3's injuries.

Genral Greivis deserves the pub none the less.

He might also win the worst starting defender in the league too.

My only knock on him is he shoots the ball way too much for a pg. 21 shots last night and 53 over the last three games that too much especially when he gets a lot of assist. Pass more

I'll take his judgement over yours, thanks.

only because he has to...especially last night with no Gordon. He was the only player on the court that could create for themself last night.

He passes plenty, but he has to remain a threat to score to be effective

I love GV's fire but he's raising his stock a bit too much for me to not entertain offers. My dream scenario:

Draft Trey Burke. Burke plays behind Vasquez next year, eventually splitting duties. Then we shop Vasquez for a SF/C before the deadline and get the full amount for him.

Am I the only one who thinks Burke will be out of our draft range?

Out how? If we draft 6-8, no way. If we're 10-12, yeah possibly. I think he'll be the first taken now that he's nationally showcased with Michigan #1 and him ballin.

But i'd be fine with Smart or MCW too.

Guess I'm thinking we will finish season strong, and that Burke will continue to rise.
