This is a terrible thing for fans and college football in general.

No student should be paid to play sports. How will the money be split? Will every team get the same amount? Will every player? Does more TV time equal bigger pay checks for different teams and their players?

tuition, books, room and board, athletic equip., medical treatment, travel expenses, etc., should be deducted from whatever is received

So turning the students into professionals is a good idea in your mind? If payment is proportional to TV time the media will control who is the number one team even more so than they do now.

To put things in perspective, the band members who travel with the team get paid. I see nothing wrong with these athletes getting a reasonable amount of money.

apples to oranges I think, but scholly athletes get stipends that probably exceed what the band people get

Didn't know this. Why/how much do they get paid? Do they get paid for playing at home also?

Also. What does the band members have to pay for? Instruments, uniforms, etc....
