I know Jcole is a big advocate for SSD's and I almost didn't include one in my build for budget reasons. I couldn't justify 100-150 bucks for 120gigs. Well today I got a newegg email with a promo code of 72SALE9 which will discount an already discounted 250gb drive from $189.99 to $149.99.

From all of my reading, Samsung has been the consensus top brand. Just wanted to let everyone know and also get opinions on the drive itself.

I have purchased a Samsung for my home PC. I also have purchased an OCZ for my work computer. Outside of the video cards, both pc's are exactly the same. I find that the Samsung is faster. Take that for what it's worth.

I'm going to take it at slightly below market-worth. Is that ok?

You have to take it to the limit, all day, every day.

Seriously, if I had any kind of spare money right now I'd buy one, I have one already and it's great, I house all my game files on it.

Remember guys it is not the 840 PRO

The PRO is pretty much the best SSD going right now.

like that matters coming from a traditional HDD. its a great price per GB for a reliable SSD

OP:
if you buy it, make sure your case has a 2.5 inch capable drive bay. if not, get a rosewill 3.5 to 2.5 adapter bay for $5

I could be wrong but I assume it is software that allows data transfers from original HDDs onto the SSD.

You mean besides copying it in some file utility like explorer?

I agree completely. Just making sure people know there is a difference.
