My family bought a lot down in Dulac. We're now looking at starting the building process. I’m trying to find someone to work with on creating the engineering/drafting plans. I have a sketch with the basic layout and dimensions but looking to get something professionally done. So if anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it. I’m in the BR area but would be happy to work with anyone in SE Louisiana. Also, if anyone has any tips/experiences/thoughts/etc. on building a camp I’d love to hear them as we’re completely new to this process.

Thanks.

My dad just finished our camp in Dulac, but I'm not gonna be quick to recommend the contractor on ours. Where is the lot?

That name might be more important than a contractor that is being recommended....

In Southern Comfort. Who was the contractor? You can email me at tigertitlehunter@gmail.com if you don't want to share here. Thanks.

I was kinda thinking the same thing as wickowick. I figure a not so good recommendation is as important as a good one. Talking to people down there two names of contractors keep coming up. Just curious if it's one of them.

DirtyMike, I'll check them out. Thanks.

Try and find one of those architects that does hurricane houses. It might cost a little more up front, but the insurance has to be lower, and you have a better chance of keeping it when a storm blows through

Isaac literally went directly over my camp and we had no damage.
