The Colt Agent .38 is another choice. It is an alloy framed .38 that carries 6 shots instead of 5 like the Smith. It also has an abbreviated grip frame and is very concealable.
Sadly the Agent has been out of production for years, however they are usually plentiful on gunbroker.
ETA: Size and weight of the Agent compares very favorably to the LCR, and again it holds 6 rounds.

Thanks bapple. I handled the klcr at cabelas yesterday. Im leaning towards that model and the 35 whelen.....wow ammo is not cheap for that rifle
