So what was your overall assessment of "Letters Of Transit?" Happy Fringe Friday!

The finale should be awesome with the whole series fresh in your mind.

It's awesome regardless. The last 3-4 eps really did the show justice

I want to join this thread so bad. I'm halfway through Season 2, so I got a while.

There are a shitload of episodes in each season, I'm used to the standard 10-13.

Solid episode but a bit out of place. Odd to toss a future episode into the mix then just go right back to the current time episodes with no explanation.

I did read that is was a setup for season 5 but still oddly out of place in season 4.

FWIW I liked Letters of Transit, but I had hopped they wouldn't go that route for season 5.. I still believe they could have done without going that route, but at the same time I'm glad they did.. we'll just put it that way.

I wouldn't call it brilliant. It could easily have just been the first episode in the last season.

I think it was more jarring than brilliant. Brilliant would have been somehow tying a current time episode to the future jump.

Maybe Walter mucking around with some drugs and some temporal brain actuator device that allows him to peak into the future.

They could just explain away his future vision the next day with him saying he couldn't' remember anything because of the drugs or maybe the device didn't work. Anything to somehow make sense of the out of place episode.

Noble is brilliant. The show is fantastic but that episode was out of phase.

I agree, however, you will never make fear agree.. might as well stop now.

If I had looked at this thread yesterday, I would have told you to completely ignore episode 17 of season 4, and watch it as the first episode of season 5.. my bad, I'm sorry.

I think that episode had more "effect" when waiting to watch Fringe week to week. Every season the 19th episode was the curveball... so there was anticipation for something really mind-blowing building for weeks leading up to it. It paid off like a mofo in "weekly watch" format.

I can see where it wouldn't be quite the same in marathon format.
