I decided to start my own thread. 
In order to accurately asses the Fringe vs X-Files battle, I need to actually watch all of Fringe.
I did attempt to watch Fringe when it first started but at that time I hated John Noble.
Something to do with how grotesque I found that scene where he was pigging out while Faramir and his men rode to their doom.
I seem to recall saying it was the A-Team meets X-Files.
I guess the scarcity of sci-fi on TV has mellowed me out a bit. I'm not sure why I didn't like the show with my first watch. I'm down to the last episode of season 1 and there was only 1 episode I didn't like. Inner Child didn't work for me.
So far only 1 character I hate. I HATED that asshat Harris but that made his demise all the more delicious and totally unexpected.
One thing did bother me a bit in the last episode {Road Not Taken}. Olivia picking the lock to get into that attorney's office.
That was weak. They are trying to find evidence to tie Bell to the terrorists and she picks a lock to gain entry in a criminal search. All evidence tainted and inadmissible. Sloppy writing.
Through all of season 1, I didn't see them breaking any laws or procedures so I felt it was out of place. This isn't House for god's sake.

As a music minister, old band frontman, and music education major for 4 year.. I can promise you, these shows are not the best place to go.
