Anyone have any recs on which models to buy or which ones to stay away from.

Im not looking for a $1,000 plus kayak like a Hobie, just something I can put in my local pond and bass fish from.

Are the ones Academy and Bass Pro decent or do they tend to crack or come apart at the seams?

I'll follow this thread also for useful info, in the same situation as OP.

any of the standard cheaper kayaks at BPS or Academy will work. I treated my cheap Pelican like shite and it has held up for years.

bass pro sell the ascend. I have one and its great. They have better kayaks out there, but you will be happy with an ascend.

i dont have any experience with the pelicans but i know some on this board fish with them and are satisfied

I have one I'm looking to get rid of. What's your email? I'll send pictures if you are interested.
