What says the OB?

quote:

A French motorist has been killed in an apparent freakish accident, after a bullet fired by a hunter ricocheted off a wild boar, before travelling almost 2 km across fields, through the driver's window and eventually striking the driver in the head.

I suppose if they recovered the bullet and forensics positively connected it to the hunter's gun I'd have to believe it. But the odds of this being real are very slim based on this story.

the hunters have claimed that while out tracking wild boar, one of their party aimed a shot, but the bullet flew off the animal at an “unlikely angle,” before travelling across the fields and striking the passing motorist in the head.

sounds like they saw it ricochet, which means it was going slow enough for them to see, but still made it a mile, through glass, and killed someone? hard to believe that story.

I imagine the ricochet part is false. He probably just missed.

Unless there is boar DNA also on that bullet then that part is false and the bullet never touched the hog

My thoughts exactly, the likelihood of a missed shot turning into a tragedy seems a lot higher than the ricochet theory...
