Are you really saying CJ isnt a good recruiter

Im saying that it seemed (at the time) that the point of hiring a 51 yr old who never made it past the level of position coach was that he was some sort of ace recruiter. This was supposed to make up for any coaching deficiencies that he may have.
247 has the class at #82 using their composite ranking. I realize that tulane has limitations when it comes to fan support, facilities, tradition, etc. However, one would think that w all of the talent in state (lsu cant take everyone) that a solid recruiter could at least bring in top 50 classes pretty easily at tulane. Might he eventually do that? Sure.
But are we really saying that the guy is a great recruiter bc he got players to miami? Umm ok. IF he starts getting decent talent to tulane then we can call him a great recruiter. But right now what has he done to warrant that label? Not flaming....seriously asking.

He definitely was an ace recruiter.
Ill wait to see how the kids play before I say it's a horrible class like you say.
He still has a chance to land Corey Smith, Lyn Clark and Duke Riley too. If he can just get one of those the class is a lot better.

He was an ace recruiter at Miami when they were in their prime and LSU was down, really wasn't that hard of a sell. I think it is fair to question whether he is all that he was supposed to be. That being said my impression was that he was doing well recruiting New Orleans.

He was a huge reason they were so good.

Exactly! Its a very fair question. Tulane fans typically just say 'hes an ace recruiter' and 'hes going to be great for tulane'. My only question has been based on what? Recruiting at Miami? On paper the current class doesnt look that much better (one spot behind memphis, one spot ahead of texas st) and the guys main strength (according to tulane fans) was supposed to be recruiting and not coaching. I simply ask my tulane friends what is johnson doing in recruiting that another coach (w head coaching or at least coordinator experience) couldnt do? I typically get a response of 'u just hate tulane. Cj is killing it.' Very insightful lol

I get it, it's not a highly rated class. I didn't expect a top 50 class coming off multiple 2 win seasons. And I'll be the first guy to call out CJ if they continue to lose. I've seen you post similar things over and over so it does seem you have something against Tulane or CJ.
I'm sure you'll be nowhere to be found if CJ and Tulane start winning.

I hope so. He seems to be one of the most level headed insiders.
