Just saw this posted on face book by someone I used to dive with that owns a hardware store. I had no idea pelican was in the ice chest business. If they are as tough as their storage boxes Yeti might have some competition. The prices don't seem quite as high either.

35 Qt - $241.39
45 Qt - $278.24
65 Qt - $334.24 Prices taken from friends store. Haven't checked online but probably can be had cheaper

meh looks like geeked up version of a Yeti. I'll stick with my IGLOO. It's lighter, cheaper and doesn't require precooling. With the money I save I can buy an extra bag of ice. If I used an ice chest every weekend that's 52 bags of ice.

Looks bulky and heavier than my Yeti. Me and the Yeti are not getting along lately.

they weigh about the same. I would never drop the cash on an ice chest when I have 4 in pitt, 5 in BR, and another 12 at my dads

I prefere my old red igloo with the Cajun Calculator on top of the unattached lid with a duct tape covered stob stuck in the drain hole.

Salesman once stated a yeti will outlast ten IGLOOs. I replied I don't need an ice chest to last longer than my IGLOO, it just has to last longer than me.

We have actually started using the big live well when we are only targeting reds. Less crap in the boat. We only keep the 16-20 inchers

I am in the middle when it comes to these ice chest. These being both pelican and yeti. I have no need for one but I also dont bash them too.

I own a few Pelican cases, and have been very pleased with the product. I would imagine these coolers are of the same quality.

I saw a guy the other day selling a Pelican cooler on lasportsman. May have to spend some tax return money . . .

Is there an instruction manual that comes with them. If i'm paying that much, i need a manual with pre cooling instructions.

If you are paying that much, one has to wonder if you are the Fleshlight

They're fricking huge. Someone gave me a Pelican 35 and it is as big or bigger than my Yeti 50.

But I do like the handles on the Pelican a lot more than the yeti

from what i've seen in person they're built like tanks....that includes the weight of one as well. Just don't see the need to take up so much space and store so little
