Looking to acquire a 357 Magnum revolver. I have several other handguns (9mm, 45, 22). Really like the look and feel of a heavy revolver. It will be my primary home defense gun of choice being that its always ready to go and I have no small kids around. Anyone have any suggestions on make/model. Really looking for stainless and 6" barrel.

Smith and Wesson 686 would be my choice but this is gonna come down to personal preference and go several pages with Downshift all up in it.

I've always liked the Colt Pythons. You can find some really nice ones on the Internet.

Now delete this thread before Downshift finds it.

Is that a 19, if so that would be a good less expensive choice.
OP, why SS?

I have one exactly like the one you described. A retired state trooper friend of mine helped me get it. Mine has custom rosewood grips. Very safe gun. Can keep the chamber fully loaded. If you drop it on the hammer, it will not go off, unlike some other guns. You can also use a variety of ammo with it.

That is a 66. I believe the 19 is the same gun in a .38 but I could be mistaken.

Hope not, I've let loose thousands of .357 rounds out of mine.
ETA: 66 might be a stainless designation for the same weapon.

Best looking handgun ever made IMO. Just too expensive to buy one today.
