Yeah, this I don't get when you let younger, talented guys like Powell and Geonte Jackson walk because they won't get enough PT.

Yocum is pretty inexplicable to me. I dont know if he could hit .225 with a composite tennis racket.

Exactly. It doesn't take a professional scout to watch Yocum and realize his ceiling isn't very high...

he can play the middle INF positions, and probably 3rd too.

This is legitimately the only answer that would make sense. But I still think that Powell or Jackson would add more to the team than a mediocre player like Yocum, especially as a JC transfer and not a kid that CPM recruited from HS and recommended he walk, Jackson, an infielder.

well put it this way, no one on our roster has started a D-1 collegiate game at SS....except Yocom, who had 1 start last year.

Yocum should've been sent away with Fields. We know what Yocum is capable of, we haven't yet seen Jackson or much from Powell. I'd stick to the younger guy, but what do I know.

2 weeks seems like such a long time. I'll be out of town this weekend so, no scrimmages for me. Hopefully I can catch one of the final weekend scrimmages.

As you say, not enough sample size yet. I am just happy that we have so many options this year.

These guys were cut (or left after coach told them weren't going to play) yesterday.

Missed first two innings but Nola had given up a run when I got there then gave up a second unearned run. Cotton gave up a run. Laird again had a better scrimmage than Stevenson or mcmullen (unless they did something before I got there) .

Barash, Ross, and JJ all had errors.

It was getting cold out there by the end. I swear it is 10 degrees colder at the Box.
