My prediction: The Aldo-Edgar fight will be boring and go to a decision. I just watched a previous fight for each fighter on Fuel. Both fights were boring. Neither guy appeared (in those fights) to have good KO power or submission skills.

Which fights are you talking about?
Weigh-ins coming up in 30 minutes. Jose looked much bigger than Frankie during the press conference yesterday.....

Aldo, 48-47
Evans, 30-27
Overeem, 2nd rd tko
Fitch, 30-27
McCall, 29-28
Edit: I hope Edgar and Nog win though.
Edit 2: Will Aldo move up to lw if he wins?
Edit 3: Silva always reminds me of the Easter Island statues.

Why? So Johnny can knock his lay and pray arse out again.

He won't land another hail mary punch. Heck it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't land any punches. It wouldn't be the first time Fitch has done that to someone.

Fitch isn't going to be able to just lay in Maia's guard or he is going to get subbed.

Fitch has arguable the best sub defense ever. I think he'll be more than fine laying on Maia and pounding him.

More than fine? Lol
He may not get sub'd but he'll be working his arse off not to.
This isn't fricking Diego Sanchez or Erik Silva he's fighting.
Maia is not just one of the top BJJ fighters in MMA, he's one of the top BJJ players in the world at any weight.

That's 9 fights.
Demian Maia is great at BJJ, but plenty of people have avoided his submission attempts.
Fitch could certainly lose, and if he does it will be by submission. But it is highly unlikely that Fitch will get caught in a sub.
1. Because he is a wrestler with excellent control and submission defense
2. Because he knows he's fighting Demian Maia and he will be extra aware and extra careful

Rampage Jackson hasn't KOd someone in five years, would you stand and bang with him?
The threat is always there if you get complatient with a specialist

Knockouts and submissions are very different.
Knockouts can come from nowhere if you just happen to land a very clean punch. There are a ton of punches and kicks thrown in a fight, so the longer you are trading punches, the more likely you are to get knocked out.
So it's always risky to stand and trade, even if Rampage isn't that good anymore.
But with submissions, it is all skill. You don't just luck into submitting somebody. So if you haven't had a submission win in years, it isn't like knocking somebody out where you just didn't land a perfect punch, it means the other fighter can defend against your submission attempts.

The UFC has had a ton of gimmie submissions and Fitch is notorious for putting himself in bad spots to try and gain position... Damien Maia is not the guy to do that with.
Fitch does posses the one key to stopping that, dominant top control. However, he better stay alert and active or he can very easily be submitted. There are black belts then there is Damian Maia, he's on a different level. The same way a striker can land one punch and end the fight, Maia can catch you being lazy and sweep or sub you.

Aldo has fought twice in two years. Edgar will be on his 7th fight in 2.5 years.
I think Edgar takes this. The wars he has been in with BJ Penn, Gray Maynard, Benson will give him the edge.
