Looked like a great game. Nice jump pass to end the game.

Thanks for posting this. UGA had a straight-on FG kicker!

Sammy Martin

Watched this in the lobby of McVoy Hall. Fantastic game!

ETA: I had forgotten how clutch Sammy Martin was. Fastest balding white guy I've ever seen in an LSU uniform.

You see it only briefly here, but Archer got a very warm and more than a little gay man hug from behind after scoring the go-ahead TD.

I also recall there was another big UGA dropped pass in this game - a sure TD with the reciever running free and the ball hitting him in stride right in the hands.

Wow that seems like a million years ago. I was there too. It was the first semester after I graduated and had just moved to Atlanta.

Great back and forth game. Thanks for posting that.

I was at that game...lived in Atlanta from '86 to '91. The wife and I had seats on the first row at the goal line right where the final LSU TD was caught. I believe that's the only real play I saw the whole game...worst seats ever.

One of many highlights of a great 10-win season. Man that clip takes me back. Sammy Martin running behind Eric Andolsek... Lawd have mercy.

Pete Jenkins was DC and Ed Zaunbrecher was OC, with Pete Mangurian OL Coach and Jesse Daigle RB Coach.

We played South Carolina in the Gator Bowl that year. I had to work at the refinery that day and was in the tankfarm when they kicked off. By the time I made it back to the control room, it was 21-0 Tigers. Hodson to Davis baby.

That was a great year but it was down hill from there. Archer (and maybe Arnsbarger?) must not have been able to recruit.

Geez, those guys are in their late 40s and early 50s now...look at how wide the goal posts were then; I think they changed the width to reflect the pro game in the early 90s as well as taking the tee from the kicker

I watched this game at my (UGA grad) uncle's house with my UGA fan father and 10 other DAWGS. My mom and I were really pissing off the fam. My mom and I are both blessed to be Louisiana born. My pops tried to raise me on UGA, but, it never stuck. I became the black sheep in the fam until my (UGA grad) uncle's oldest son went to ga tech.

James Jackson the Georgia QB is overlooked in SEC history but he was a hell of a player.
