Exactly; would much rather spread out that money on decent-good players than on 1 great one

This is so stupid. The vast majority of the top passing teams these days are relying on 4-5 guys to catch passes consistently. Revis can cover 1 of these. I'd much rather have a nice pass rusher and a ccouple of solid corners than this dude.

I disagree. A true lockdown corner doesn't need any safety help which can liberate the safety to do other things. It's almost like having an extra player on the field.

in this day and age I would rather have three solid corners than one All pro. too many spread sets adn the rules are set up where even the elite corners can't really shut down receivers all game...

Spend the money on pressure players and O'Linemen

Maybe 5-10 years ago when teams relied on a smaller core of pass catchers this would've mattered. Now a lockdown corner doesn't really do much against 4 and 5 wide sets, elite TE, and pass catching rbs.

I'm on my phone so I can't find em now.

But the numbers on the Jets D with and without Revis are staggering.

They're much, much worse without him. The entire D is basically built around him.

aron an ere any stats out there that prove he's the top corner in the league? because from everything i've seen he's great, but not the best.
Yea

I think it's on Football Outsiders.

He plays onan island, pardon the pun lol, and the success rate on passes on him are insanely low.

All that being said he's not worth that kind of a deal.

well a team is obviously going to be better with an elite corner and no pass rush as opposed to no elite corner and no pass rush. The problem is they built a D around a corner back.

Yeah seems like a terrible strategy

Shut down corners are obviously very valuable but they've done a poor job of personnel management if there is that much of a drop off with him not on the field
