False. He is banned indefinitely. He has to have an offer from a team, and then must petition Goodell for reinstatement.

Why would anyone hire this flake with all of the baggage? Good guys like Crennel, Lovie Smith, are looking for jobs and have no baggage.

Maybe the rules are different for one year vs. Indefinite, but how could he meet with teams while Payton couldn't besides ironing out the contract that was a special circumstance?
