So the SEC already has a comment.

Gerald Boudreaux, the supervisor of SEC officials, issued a statement. "The officiating crew ruled that when the ball was handed to the player for the throw-in, five players were on the court for each team," he said.

Proved me wrong

ETA: That's actually a really solid article.

Hickey on missing the front end of the one and one
quote:

"I've got big shoulders," he said. "And I've got to make whatever (shots) for my team. I put this game on my shoulders, and know I'm going to bounce back for my team."

quote:

"It hurts real bad, but it's all about moving on," he said. "We're going to see them again later on in the season. ... It hurts for me because I'm from Kentucky, but you have to go through these things to get where you want to go.

quote:

"I played OK," Hickey added. "But I could have played better and done so much more. I got some early fouls I shouldn't have got, and that hurt my team with me not being out there."

BB ref's have been awful for years in any game. Looks like some of them have never seen a game. How do they pick them?

They had no frickin' clue they just ruled what Slimey Cal told them to. Anyway, we got the benefit of the tech earlier for a flagrant elbow that I think was not, so it evened out.

The refs didn't cost us the game. We had our chances.

It's hard to find quality refs at the college level b/c there are so many D1 schools playing two games a week. Takes a huge time committment. Don't know how they do it with having a regular job.

I'd say 75% aren't worthy of calling bigtime college basketball. But it's always been like this.

This is a rule change this season that requires refs to review any elbow to the head. Any contact, intentional or not, results in a flagrant foul. This is a result of all the paranoia with head injuries.

Not a fan of the rule, but they got the call right.

So be it. I'm just not a blame the refs guy. Never have been and never will be.

Nor am I. I don't blame losses on refs. I'd like to get more calls, but that's just the fan in me.
