I would like to see numbers on how many of these 5 star kids that drag out there recruiting process actually make it to the NFL. Seems like alot of these guys do this just to see how many offers they can get and gain more exposure. I'm old school. I'll take lower tier kid who wanted to be a Tiger his whole life because I'm sure they will do whatever it takes to better themselves and the team. Just like Jacob Hester did here at LSU.

No. And if you agree, clearly you are new to this.

Yeah, who in their right mind would want Patrick Peterson or Rueben Randle. Need more three stars!

It is ridiculous from the standpoint of these ego driven high school seniors that play games with fans & coaches, like RN. There are some like him every year.

But it seems like most coaching staffs will still go to many extremes to try & land those 4 & 5 Star recruits!

Of course, but it's the offseason, basketball is better but still meh, and baseball hasn't started yet.

You do know he was going to Texas until they dropped him, right? Don't act like he grew up dreaming and hoping to play for LSU.

Ive gone as far as to save that meme to my phone for use. It frickin kills me every time.

And yes this recruiting drama is played out but I think it helps show all of what schools have to offer. What gets me is these kids make these stupid decisions, I think the NCAA should have counselors or something just to find out why 5* players go play at schools they wont ever win at or why 5 5* DE go to the same school.

They're 17/18 year old kids. Let em enjoy being in the limelight for a while.

Meh, it's not as bad as some years.

Remember back when Harvey Williams was committed to A&M...?

Crazy times.

Hester committed to Texas and was considering Miami until he got an offer from Nick Saban to come to LSU. LSU offered him after the fact. What do you think he was going to do? Not play football unless LSU offered him. He committed to Texas and accepted the LSU offer afterwards. Hester is one of the hardest working football players to play here. He was an overachiever. By the way, Hester commited in December and did not drag out the recruiting like these guys are doing.

They all them "diamond in the rough" for a reason. If we spent all of our time looking for Jacob Hesters we'd get nowhere.
