I can pretty much guarantee that if LSU didn't call, it didn't call for a reason. I can guarantee they didn't just "drop the ball".

Either, LSU decided somewhere along the way that they wouldn't take Goodman just for the sake of Willis. Or, they pressed as hard for Goodman as they thought was reasonable and needed him to show his interest by showing up on campus.

Perhaps it was a miscalculation on LSU's part. Time will tell. But, they didn't just forget to call the guy. That's ridiculous.

This is complete horseshite. The guy didn't even fill out his paperwork that every recruit has to fill out when they take an official visit. The ticket was waiting for him at the airport. Our coaches didn't call him on Friday because he was probably crawfishing all over the place on thursday night and his mom had no intention of coming to BR, soooo,... moving on.

Tahaan Goodman says LSU and UCLA were even up until the non-visit to Baton Rouge last weekend. He says the coaches never called and that's why he decided to go to UCLA that weekend instead. It seems hard to believe that LSU coaches would have failed to call TG especially when there's a need at safety. Could it be that LSU was really not after TG and only considered him on the strength of PW?

TG.... "Once (the LSU trip) didn't happen, I didn't force it, the coaches didn't call me, I was like all right," Goodman said. "It was really between those two. Those were my last two main schools, LSU and UCLA. They were pretty much even. When I didn't get the call from the coach I felt like it was meant to be.

Heard on the radio earlier this week that Goodman didn't even fill out the paperwork for the visit. It may have been Ponamski that said it, but I can't remember off hand.

IMO, if the kid doesn't even take the time to fill out and send in the paperwork, he wasn't serious about coming here. I think he wanted UCLA all along and is just trying to make sure that Willis stays UCLA-bound, by making it look like we dropped the ball.

I agree this is probably Goodman's fault, but this is the 3rd recruit saying the same thing, so a little concerning? (Toshiro Davis, Kain Daub, and now Goodman).
These kids all have egos and want to be pampered and contacted. But surely BS and not a LSU problem. Geaux Tigers!!

I can't believe the coaches kept canceling his visits.

I mean why come out and say that? Let sleeping dogs lie. Lsu obviously wante him. He chose another school. It wasn't like anyone was bashing him bc of his decision. Why come out and throw dirt at a school who wanted to give you an opportunity?

I'd look at it a an honor that they wanted me. Any school who recruited me. Even if it's a school I don't want to go to i'd respect them enough to not shite on them when they wanted me.

You're right - all these recruits are obviously lying about the same problem.

For those of you bashing him, who really knows.

Maybe he was getting more calls from others than us. Maybe this is just an excuse. Who knows.

But this has been said a lot lately, so maybe where there is smoke, there is fire.

If this was the case then good luck to him. TG was prolly headed to UCLA anyway.

, they will make time to do the paperwork and get visits done, or call the coaches. It's that simple. Coaches are also going after other players, they're busy people.

Not sure if serious.

Recruiting is sales. Kids on the fence can easily be swayed by the those who give the most attention. If you want a kid, you press the kid. Some of these recruits have dozens of schools fighting for their signature.

I'm well aware of that. But I'm talking about the visits. If you've done enough for them to say they'll come visit if they REALLY are interested, they get their paperwork done.

It's the same lame arse attempt to save face. Our coaches will not beg guys that intentionally give them the run-around. When the staff finally moves on some of these kids are left with bruised egos, so they try to make it look like LSU dropped the ball at the last minute and not the other way around. An LSU offer is a really big deal and recruits know they could possibly be passing on their best opportunity to do what every recruit wants to do: go first round in the draft. That's why it's not uncommon for them to talk about God leading them to their final decision.

Sounds to me like TG decided against LSU before the visit and LSU slacked on the attention when it became apparent that he wasn't going to make the visit. Then TG simply gives his reason for not going to LSU as lack of attention. Probably not meant to be as a slight towards LSU but just put out for those asking him why he choose UCLA. It's not like he is going to say he likes the tail at UCLA more so he has to say something.
