Season 2 is much better the second time around. I think people don't like season 2 at first because they want more of the Barksdale storyline.

Fantastic show. I finished it a couple months ago and it really is incredible.

But as weak as 5 is, it's still really good. Watch it immediately if you've never seen it. I'm kinda upset with myself for waiting as long as I did.

Yeah that is a good point, most people really wanted to see more of the Barksdales, but I did like Sergio and the Greek and what not. Not big on the union storyline.

Took me forever to realize Snoop was a female.
ETA: Season 4 is my personal fav. Best thing about this show is that even with the abundance of characters throughout the series, all feel significant in the story. I'm talking 50+ characters. Probably more.

I bought Season 1 (well actually the girl at best buy didn't scan it. i got the wire S1 and portal 2 for ps3 for $15.) yesterday and I'm already half way through it. im hooked

I started it from the beginning this weekend. I've seen most of it but I think there's still an episode here and there that I've missed. Mostly S2.
