True. Close to Compton, I believe. But so much other stuff to do, and the women are smoking!

UCLA is in nice area

In the hood or not, it's still L.A.

Close to Hollywood, celebrities at practice. Great school tradition. Great academics. NFL pipeline. National TV coverage. Warm weather, women, close to beaches.

USC has every advantage a football school could have.

I'm sure if you cleaned off your oakleys in your BMW you would know every place has poor parts of town.

Hot women everywhere in the south with in my opinion higher quality. Easy path to pro's....SEC? Higher education I will give you, but again...I dont think that is what these guys are worried about.

Have you ever seen what a semi talented player at USC is built up as when they drum Colorado 52-0? And the women part really depends on the campus. USCw is right up there with LSU.

I can see the Reggie Bush glory days...but damn how long can that last. Maybe I am just too old at 33.

You are aware that's what the kids being recruited grew up watching right?

Ummm, because theres not many good football programs out west. On the east coast there are alot of great football teams, on the west coast.....not so much. Dont have much to choose from.

It's a big name, they pump kids into the NFL, and you would get to live in freaking LA your whole college career. For free, essentially. Not a bad gig.

And recruits not going to LSU/Alabama/florida don't care that the SEC won 7 titles in a row

Don't forget both Auburn and Tennessee have more Crystal Footballs than the entire Even More Pacific 12 (formerly the Very Pacific 10) combined.

It's the glitz and glamor, the media adulation. No team has had more 5* glory seeking jocks for over a decade - even last season's team. They go there with fat heads and proceed to underachieve as a team -- no official BCS Championships and every time they lose it is to a team with less talent, usually a lot less talent. Even deflating footballs, deceitfully changing jerseys, and denying opponents walk through practices in the Coliseum helps. The kind of talent they attract puts the team second; it never gels to form the invincible team that much 5 and 4 star talent ought to make. Part of it is inferior coaching, but a huge chunk of it is just that primadonnas gonna primadonna.

So fret not all those 5* recruits; they'll go there and play their usual weak schedule and lose. They lack the personalities that it takes to be National Champions. They don't have "the chest."

Most recruits are very familiar with areas like that and are not intimidated by them.

What is the draw?

You get to live in the middle of a big city where its 70 degrees with a breeze 300 days a year? Not to mention they first or second all time in draft picks. And its a really good private school.

Ask the many LSU alumni that call SoCal home. I actually prefer it here in the South TBH, I like a laid back way of life, the fishing here is great, and my Gulf Coast Beaches are world class (no lie.) but I love to go back and visit, because there's everything to do there. If you're into fame and fortune there's no better place in America to seek it.

I could do with more fortune, but you can keep fame.

Beach, sun, celebrity, and snatch.

But definitely not in that order.

Kentucky got the fire but I dont see 5 star studs flocking to UK. I mean every college campus has their fare share of hot chicks, SEC has won the most Championships in the BCS era. SEC has the money...does not compute. SEC puts tons of talent in the pros.

You live in an SEC bubble. While most of the country respects the SEC, they do not all clamor to play in it. There is a big world outside of the Ole Confederacy.

If you don't like LA or Calif, that's fine, everyone is different. but if you don't get why kids want to play there, you are beyond biased.
