You joke, but honestly Kirby Smart could be in play.

Also Rob Ryan and Romeo are possibilities.

Todd Grantham, UGA DC. Has NFL experience and great 3-4 DC. Then, draft Alec Ogletree from UGA. Jarvis Jones would be better but probably gone by #15 pick.

I'd be ok Romeo Cennel for DC and draft Barkevious Mingo at #15 too.

Offer him a substantial raise and lure him away from the Texans. Their D was a total mess before he took over.

Jim Tomsula. It might be the reason he is "taking his time" to hire a DC.

Really? Lol because SOME coaches don't do well in the NFL that anyone would consider bringing in a college guy to implement a system that has dominated college for the past 4 seasons???

I actually think Kirby Smart would be a good fit for the Saints. Let's face it, with the Saints' current roster, they aren't going to have a top rated defense in the league. They're a team that needs to rely on forcing turnovers and creating big plays in order to be successful. With a high-powered offense that's typically the kind of defense you see do well anyway. Oregon is what first comes to mind as an example of what I'm getting at. They aren't a great defense (they aren't the worst in history either), but they make enough big plays and force enough turnovers to compliment their high scoring offense and put further pressure on the opposition. That's something Kirby could thrive on.
