As some may know, Josh Teater is a friend of mine and just had his career high finish tying for 2nd. At the end of the GC's coverage they interviewed him. He is such an awesome guy, I wanted to share it with you guys. If you skip to the 43:30 mark of the video it comes on. I know people have some less than favorable opinions of tour players and thought he may gain a fan or two if you guys take the couple of minutes to watch it. Thanks.

Thanks man. He is such a good person. He still lives here and if we run into each other at the course we go out and play a round like we did when we were kids. Except he destroys me now. Thanks for watching that.

That's what is great about the game of golf.
Love seeing small names win or compete, just as much as seeing a big name crush the field. That's why the '08 US Open got me hooked on golf. Tiger vs. Rocco was great.
Could tell he was a genuine guy from the interview. Sounded nervous. Which I liked. Good to see a guy actually be a little nervous compared to most tour players that spout off some rehearsed answer.

He was fighting back tears the whole time. Again, I've seen his game grow since we were 10. He is the furthest thing from a prickish country club boy. Hell he still comes back and the Club has a scramble where he plays a couple of holes with each group.

I could tell he was fighting back tears. Made me like him more.

He's a genuine guy and does a lot of stuff for FCA. Thanks again for watching. Now if we can just get him a win.
I agree that he came across as a genuine, sincere young man. Tell him he has a fan in the Rocky Mountains.
And with a half a mil paycheck, he can take you out for a hell of a night on the town next time you see him.

Reading your recent posts reminds me of my club (and I'm not saying you're one of these people at all, so don't take it that way ), but it reminded me of some things.
Patrick Reed played at our course for about 1.5-2 years. It was AMAZING how many people would come up to him and practically suck his dick. He wouldn't practice during the day, but would come very early, leave, and come back late afternoon. The only reason he and I (and a few others a the club, one of whom I'm about to talk about) became friends were because we weren't constantly gawking him. I practiced, he practiced, and a few others practiced close to each other, would chat, and have fun, and I would be amazed how people would just walk up to him during an intense practice session and just stand there and try to talk to him. It aggravated me to know end, so I know he couldn't stand it
Another guy "at our club" (started there and jumps around) is trying to make it, and people have been shitting on him for years. Head case, bad swing, etc were all people would say about him. Once he qualified for a Nationwide event, and did well in a few others, those same people would just flock to him and gawk, talking about how good he always was
Point being, I'm sure their are the people at your club that will make up every story possible about how they taught Teater "this shot" or "that shot", or were best friends with him.
It's something that has always amazed me about how people are attracted to that fame, and would do anything to be associated with it.

I hear you. There are a lot of people at the club that are like that. I've known him well since we were kids. We played baseball together and against each other for years. Our parents belonged to the same club and there weren't a lot of kids that played so it was pretty much me and him every day during the summer. Now, if he's out there, I'll say hello and leave him be. If he wants to get a round in, he will come play from time to time. There are some guys that will try and get close on the range. I typically go to the farthest spot. Josh does handle it well, because I'd tell people to leave me alone, but he is just a really cool guy that is always nice to everyone.

Seems people are desperate to build a "relationship" with someone famous, so they can name drop when they are watching the tournament with their buddies or something. Or next time they play.
Obviously not speaking to you Bho.
One of my buddies led the Tennessee State Amateur when he was like 17 for a round. That's about as close as I've got.
