Can anyone recommend a Trukey Hunting Outfitter? I am looking into booking a trip for my father and I. I am semi experinced Turkey hunter - (have been hunting for 8 years - just only once or twice and year). I have been successfull in the past so a semiguided hunt is ok.

Any advice would be great. Thanks

Also, always looking for a Trukey lease in LA. Any leads on that would be great also.

If you wanna go out of state check out bucks and beards in Nebraska. Also if you wanna do bow only check out tombstone creek in Missouri. Best place to just go kill would be Texas. They have a ton of affordable places.

Giles Island has tons of turkeys and Jimmy is supposed to be a world class turkey hunter. Plus the lodge and guides are first class.

Regarding Giles, I went there for seven years straight (mainly bow hunting deer and turkeys). Jimmy is an excellent turkey hunter and person. I love Giles Island, but I am looking for somewhere different.

I have gotten to hunt with Jimmy on non-giles land for turkeys. He is a big fan of the sit and wait - if he knows a bird is in the area he will sit all day long calling sparingly. It works, I give him that - he did this last year a killed a really good bird.

I'm not a turkey hunter, but I've deer hunted Giles Island many times. I've just always heard good things about Jimmy in regards to turkey hunting. He is a good hunter period.

Yea rock was a hell of a specimen. I had "the million dollar buck" and "tecomate" walk within 35 yards of me while i was bowhunting there. They were both 2 1/2 year old deer and I let them walk. I'm going to find the pictures of them when they were taken.

Yeah, he was nicknamed 'rock' on the hit list. I heard (never meet the guy, just hearsay from guides there) that he was the biggest d***( has a ton of money and talks shite about everyone/everything . Rumor is midway through the trip which the guy killed the deer, the guides and Jimmy got together to say he will never come back again no matter how much money he pays.

Its an interesting realtionship between a guide and hunter. You spend 8 or so hours a day with a guide for three to six days in a row - you get to know eachother. I can't imagine what it would be like to sit with some of the people that deer hunt.

Just hearsay.
