Lol, we'll if they were in the business of satisfying others and caring what they thought, this might make them change their minds. But, they aren't and I'm sticking by the name unless the logo and uni is god awful.

As an entertainment company, they most certainly are in the business of satisfying others. In fact, that's the crux of business, earning money by satisfying others.

The Knicks is by far the worst name in any sport. They're named after pants...

Pants...

Pelicans is fricking awesome, I can't wait to get some pelicans gear

People are still going to buy, still come to games, all the good stuff. Even you. It's not like a name of a venue or something, it's a name of a team

It could definitely affect the amount of stuff people buy. I know that I, personally, will be less inclined to buy a generic color scheme with Pelicans written all over it. I'll just grab one of the numerous red, navy, or gold shirts out of my closet and head out. I know that it won't make or break the franchise, but it is naive to imply (as my #1 fan Mickey did) that it will not have any effect.

I would have set my sights a bit higher than "arguably not the worst."

Pelicans being near the bottom of the list is just your opinion. There were very few options where a significant number of people wouldn't have thought it was the worst name ever. Too bad Benson wouldn't pony up for Voodoo, that really was the only choice that wouldn't have played out like this.

It is not "just" my opinion. It's an opinion shared by a large portion of Hornets fans.

My point was that outside of Voodoo any name kicked around would have caused similar unrest, it'd just be a different group of fans that were pissed off.

It is not naive to imply it but I won't imply it. It will have some effect but people will still come, and still buy merch. It's funny, actually. Like I said and will continue saying, if the unis and logos are done right, people will buy and come out.

But you were ok with wearing stuff with Hornets on it? Please explain. I have not bought as much Hornets gear, because though I like the color scheme for the unis I personally don't want to wear those colors. I much rather a more plain less flashy look. Otherwise it looks too ghetto.
