if by completely shutting them down after the 1st quarter is lucky, then yeah we were lucky to beat them. and it's not like we played them at the beginning of the season. our game against them was long after manziel had arrived and set the all-time sec total yard record in a game, twice. you make it sound like we caught them in the first month of the season when they were just learning how to gel. it was game #8. we just flat out took away manziel, and they're just not good enough to beat good teams without him carrying them

FIFY

Reality is, LSU pulled back after the Bama game becasue we knew the NC hopes were gone. If we had beaten Bama, LSU probably would've gone beast mode. We can throw out all kind of "ifs" though. Fact is, we walked into their house and put it on them. Luck didn't contain JM in the pocket and allow him 30 rushing yds. LSU's team did that. Luck didn't give us 24 points and hold their "great" offense to 19. GTFO with that "luck" talk.

relative to the rest of the west, LSU has fallen back. When Saban Took over, LSU was the dominant team in the West and the nation. Now LSU is a distant second to Bama with ATM poised to make a strong push for the #2 spot. Hell they won 11 games with a 1st year head coach after being a .500 team in a weaker conference the year before.

dude just stop and go away we were one play away from the seccg, so stupid just go away or go play in traffic, you're an idiot.
Disclaimer: I am going to hammer stupidity here now this is out of hand.

LSU, Bama, and Florida are the 3 best programs in the nation, so no.

The reality is, LSU goes 10-2 beating two top 10 teams in aTm and SCAR and lose to Bama and Florida and people on here think we are one the worst teams Miles ever fielded. All while doing this with a make-shift OL and new QB. aTm goes 10-2 losing to LSU, while having two AA/NFL OTs and a beastly OL and they are the next big thing. On our down year we were better than the best year they've had in 15 years.

BOOM. Too bad people can't see it that way

We have no idea how good Sumlin really is. Manziel would have made John L Smith look like a genius. Keep in mind Sumlin lost plenty of games at UH.

Oh, and there is that head-to-head record of 1-0 in LSU's favor with A&M as an SEC team.

Im interested to see how they do without Joeckel, Swope, Moore, and Porter. They were pretty key in their success.

Athough im not going to sit here and think theyre going to fall off the map. Manziel is special, hell keep them in every game they play. We just have to hope we get a combination of key stops, his mistakes, and our offense keeping up.

Texas seems to produce a lot of good quarterbacks. LSU hasn't gotten one since Jimbo left. I don't think Sumlin will have any trouble recruiting another one with his system.

I don't consider LSU #2. LSU is #1. Let aTm fight the gumptards for 2 spot.

Looking forward, the potential for AtM with Sumlin at the helm is staggering. With the recruiting base, the money, and the passionate fan base, all that place needed was the coach. Of course, they have to show that they can continue the momentum, but considering what they did in the toughest division in college football with a new staff and true frosh QB, I expect them to get better and better.

I think LSU will struggle to maintain its #2 status.

I disagree with everyone's apparent belief, including Miles, which is that we are destined to play second fiddle to Alabama. If we would have come out with a little imagination and not play and call plays like huge pussies, we should have won all games against Bama as well as other key games that we've dropped. Since fear of Alabama is palpable for coaches and fans and we've been stuck in a rut since 2007, I think LSU should be concerned that it's ability might be on the decline while other programs trend upwards. With the talent on the team, however, settling for anything but the best from the players and the program is inexcusable and playing scared should not be an option.

A&M will be better then LSU the next 2 years. better QB play by far.

A&M is on the rise, we're about to be put in 3rd place for quite some time, just M.O.

kind of misleading here. We had Keil until the 11th hour before he shat on us and we had Zach Lee committed before the Dodgers offered him 5 million reasons to play baseball. It's not like LSU hasn't recruited well at the QB position, we just missed on a couple recruits and had 5 years of mediocre-bad QB play under Lee and JJ. Mett will be fine. He got better as the year went on when the OL actually gave him time to throw. He's tough as nails and isn't scred to make the tough throws. He has some pocket issues he needs to work on and needs a little more work on timing with his receivers, but if you look at his year this year, you have to say he improved a fair bit and his stats are very similar to J. Russell's first year as a starter. I think he will do well for us this year.
