I can believe that, every once in a while, an actor probably wants to do something silly that doesn't require a lot of effort.
Natalie Portman said in an interview she did Your Highness after Black Swan specifically to unwind after such an intense role.

yeah. i bet people involved are friends also.
stars do non-studio movies for peanuts all the time, especially if it's to help out friends
if it was a fun shoot that only took 3-4 days of their life, i don't think they'd expect to get a lot up front
now...on the back end? who knows

yeah these actors probably got together when shooting the scenes, shot the shite for a few days, got real high and shite, and laughed about it. actors are people and they like to blow off steam and make fun of their image often
i mean does anybody think tom cruise got $20M for tropic thunder? of course in true tom cruise fashion that was a studio movie that was going to be popular, blah blah blah (he's image conscious). but that shite happens even with big guys in big movies
it's a funny comparison to selling your soul for a paycheck like what pacino did with jack and jill
