| Who here is already missing Neal Boortz? (Posted on 1/22/13 at 9:56 pm)
Boortz has only been retired 2 days and already I miss the dude. Great libertarian voice on the radio. I listed to a few seconds of his replacement Herman Cain today and predict fail.

I knew my faux-Libertarian senses were tingling.

Was Boortz too conservative / Republican for your liking? Other than support for the wars he seemed to expound Libertarian ideas pretty well.

I wouldnt be surprised if he was a generally abrasive person off the air, but he is very appreciative of his fans and listeners. Saw him in Hartsfield once, said hi and that I listened to him as often as I could. He was really nice about it and thanked me for "listening to an old curmudgeon like me."

Boortz wasn't a libertarian or a republican or a democrat, he was a money making machine! He used to say, years ago when he was on WGST and before WSB made him a gazzilonaire, that if you were to wade through the depths of his convictions you wouldn't get you ankles wet. He was all about doing whatever it took to garner audience and he learned early on that saying things that seemed controversial was a good way to do that. He was also adept at not being too controversial and so he never had to continually keep outdoing his self to start on top. The one thing that Boortz did was always provide a disclaimer, that anything he said could be false and that you should always verify the information. Of course very few of his more devout audience would understand that this was his way of saying that what he was spewing probably wasn't completely accurate.

I like Herman Cain, but definitely preferred Boortz. I don't care to spend time listening to Rush, Hannity, Levin... Jamie Dupree is very good at what he does and is a big reason why I've always liked the show.

Cain will not make it to the end of the summer. He is dreadful to listen to. He was dreadful as a fill in and he is dreadful now. They penned him to 'replace' Boortz after his VERY brief popularity boost during the early primaries..but this ain't gonna cut it. It was wise to bring Rush over to WSB in Atlanta because they station would die without it now.

Boortz wasn't a libertarian
I guess that's why he was keynote speaker at several Libertarian Party Presidential Conventions.
