I'd be suprised if he ever plays a down at LSU, his grades are supposedly an issue

Where are you hearing that from? I've never heard his name come up as a possible academic casualty in this class.

I haven't heard anything about grades being an issue with him. If it was, we would be after other LB's. I think he stays at MLB and plays around 250. This kid can really run as it is, plus, minter played at 245 this year

I think he stays at LB. The bonus is that he can play on the line if needed or he grows down the line. We are a little short at the MLB position but I think we've got kids that can play it well enough for us to get by. I think Beckwith can play the middle if he sticks at LB.

I like him with the ball in his hands. TE would be a nice landing spot.

A 250 lb. MLB with quickness can make things real tough on opposing run games. I know Chief likes smaller quicker LBs but a big run stopper can make a difference.

He's one of my favorite recruits in this talented class. I kind of doubt DE, since the Tigers are loaded with so many of them already committed for this class.

I would think the coaching staff might give Jones a serious look at fullback, esp. since he has played there in high school.

Sure would be nice to have a big run stuffing MLB. At 6'3" 246 he will probably get even bigger once Moffit gets him.

it can work both ways with Moffit. nutrition and conditioning can and will reduce body fat on many athletes. would love to see MJ develop into another Minter or a bama style lb like Nico Johnson at 6-3 245. I know Chavis loves smaller fast lb's but if you want to stuff the power run game of you-know-who you will need some large lb's who can take on the big oline/TE's that are winning championships at you-know-where.

get better now.

Any word on whether Cutrer makes it in or not? Kid looks like the real deal at safety.

LSU will mold his body just right, we may have a TRUE middle linebacker now that we have had in a long time. Dont get me wrong, I love the past backers but they weren't "true" linebackers. He reminds me of Urlacher. If this kid would have gone to Barbe high school he would be a LOT more nationally recognized.

Gtfo. Shepp and Minter were plenty enough "true LB" types.

Sheppard was not. Jacob Cutrera was. But didnt fit the system. I know the game is changing, but when i see middle linebacker i see a big arse guy blowing up the fullback and stuffing holes, not minter.

yep, 32 on act and had 3.8 at Catholic High in high school, had a 3.5 at Pearl River CC and then 3.8 at LSU with a degree and I'm the stupid one. Either way people have different opinions, and my opinion was stated. If you have nothing intelligent to say you result in insult. You sir are a douche.

I doubt Chief likes smaller players at any position. He wants speed and quickness, and he's willing to sacrifice size to get it. But make no mistake, he'd prefer to have speed, quickness and size.

Yes I am a douche. But so is the guy who states his HS GPA and ACT score on an LSU Recruiting Board. Heavens I have a degree from LSU too! We must be just as smart!

In all honesty, the guy who is the best LB is the one who can produce. Cutrera may have had the frame but there was a reason he couldn't beat out Shepp. Production. And Minter is better than both of them (comparing college careers.

Cutrera: 6'4 240
Sheppard: 6'3 245
Minter: 6'2 245

All seem like pretty damn nice size measurables for college LBs. I'm sorry you expect everyone of our guys to measure similar to Brian Urlacher, one of the greatest MLBs in NFL history but I'm sure you're also asking why the Tigers can't find someone exactly like Jimmy Graham to play TE for us.

This is why I resorted to calling you stupid, because I didn't feel like wasting 5 minutes of my life to state what doesn't really need to be stated. It's obvious for 99.9999% on here. Thanks. And have a great day.
