Tony Dungy saddened by blacks not getting more opportunities to be coaches, GMs

I spoke to one high-ranking team executive late Friday, after eight NFL coaching vacancies, five GM vacancies and one vice president of player personnel slot were filled -- all by white men. "Shocking,'' he said. "One by one they get filled, and you don't realize what happened until it's over, but that's not good for our league. Not good."
"I don't know what the answer is,'' a downcast Tony Dungy said Saturday night. "I just know the system is broken."

Why? Does he not think that NFL owners will hire the best possible candidate for their job simply because of skin color...

How many white running backs or cornerbacks were hired?
Is there a Rooney rule for that?

Can you hire a black head coach before interviewing a white candidate?

Andy Reid is a proven offensive genius and a great coach. Lovie Smith is a proven underachiever.

Andy may be offensive. Genius is questionable.
