m$ is in it for the long haul they have basically taken over the living room at this point

idk if Ps is a viable brand if sony lets it go. it clearly loses money for a good deal longer than the xbox.

MS is on the same path as Sony right now.

Windows 8 has flopped, the Surface isn't doing well, Windows Phone is pretty much non existent.

People are getting fed up with Microsoft and it could prove fatal at this rate.

ETA: How could I forget Bing? Losing a billion dollars per quarter thanks to Bing.

Wut?

Microsoft is losing it's arse right now, u serious?

All of their new launches have flopped, and Bing is a disaster.

Microsoft lost money for the first time ever last year in quarter 4.

True

As I said earlier MS generates a billion dollars per year in revenue just off of Xbox Live transactions. That's not even including the Xbox Live subscription fees.

They will be profitable faster than Sony on their next gen.

I see it as coming down to this

Wii U for kids and gimmick games
Xbox 720 for the whole entertainment option
PC for hardcore gamers

Not real sure where PS4 fits into all of that. Somewhere betwen Xbox and PC obviously but I am not sure that's enough of the pie.

Didn't they post record profits a quarter or two ago? But lets not let that fact stand in the way.

They need to just cut Bing and they'd be okay I think.

Going up against Google/Apple in both the search engine and phone market was stupid from the beginning.

They are losing billions on Bing, no one wants a Windows Phone device, and their tablet entry the Surface is well below sales estimates. Windows 8 doesn't even need to be mentioned with how bad it's flopped.

They will start trimming soon.

I meant the whole company but yea they sold a shite load of consoles.

If anything were to happen to MS the Xbox brand is a more viable option for someone to snatch up vs Playstation at this point.

2/3 of their profit still comes from software/Windows.

Unless the world as a whole stops using Windows they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Do you have to put sunscreen on to go to work? No way you can work in an office setting and predict the end of MS.

Which is why the Windows 8 disaster has MS in an even worse spot than a year ago.

No. Actually PC sales were down this year. It has nothing to do with Windows 8 specifically. It's more to do with consumers holding on to their money with an uncertain economy.

It hurt everyone involved with PCs but yet MS still turned record profits somehow. That's because Windows is not their only resource.

It's not hard to understand and you can even use Google to search stuff before talking out of your arse.

Who the hell said that?

Simple said the truth that is all.

Do you not realize how much money they have lost and are losing on Bing?

They're other products of the last year or so, have all flopped big time.

Microsoft used to be this be end all be all of companies years ago, they've lost everything they had but an OS that is total shite currently.

If Apple ever made Macs more price friendly, Microsoft would go bankrupt.

They literally have nothing else, yet they've tried to enter the phone market, tablet market, and search engine market to ZERO success.

Used to, switched to the Nexus 4 a few weeks ago.

The OS was fine/fun, but again, it offered nothing else.

There are zero developers for Windows Phone 8/Windows 8 and the developers they do have keep leaving.

Just another major problem for MS.
