It's going to be 4GB shared between the CPU and GPU for what it's worth but keep your head in the sand.

On that note I am glad that what is reccomended to run games now will be the same in 4,5...10 years!

Says who? No one knows that information which is why I didn't comment further.

Could have upgrade options for RAM in the next gen consoles, not like it is hard.

Again, no one knows, quit being a bitch.

You instigated the "drama" so yes, it was very laughable.

Bitches gonna bitches I'll be one right back, simple as that.

Some people should just stick to designing and post less.

Wait...you start these threads to discuss rumors that YOU found and when we point out things in those rumors you get mad and no longer want to discuss those things?

Not only that but you jump to making hypotheticals up that have NEVER been rumored by anyone?

I am done. This is just too stupid.

Correct me if I'm missing something, but how would developers plan on an option like this? Not knowing how much RAM each console will have? The idea of a console is to have a uniform platform, am I right?

Exactly unless they start having Normal and Ultra graphic options like PC

Just me? Lord no, TheKaptain started the PS4 controller rumor from the same CVG site just the other day, it went 3 pages did you miss it?

Lol wut? Making a thread is for others to discuss and if I so chose, to jump in, I did for awhile, nothing was being said that drew my attention and that was that. This thread for example, your doucheness has peaked my interest and I'm posting non stop in it, otherwise I probably would have posted maybe 1-2 more times and been out.

Again, what? You claim 4GB of DDR5 RAM isn't enough for next gen consoles, when it completely is, it's even enough for PC's. Your response is "but it MAY be shared between the GPU and CPU" which again, is not known.

No idea, the next gen consoles were rumored to have upgradable RAM/GPU's and still might.

RAM

Last thing I want to say about this is that it seems like Microsoft and Sony are taking different approaches. Microsoft are going with slower DDR RAM but more of it, they seem to be "saving" a lot of RAM for OS functions, in other words it looks like Microsoft have some sort of plans, maybe Kinect 2.0 or something. Sony on the other hand went with less RAM but it is faster GDDR RAM and Sony are also seemingly spending more money on the GPU. In other words the way it looks the PS4 will be engineered to be a pure gaming machine with more power, the 720 will fall in between the PS4 and Wii U in terms of power. It's interesting though because Microsoft are intent on saving a lot of money on memory and GPU from the looks of it and then they allocate a lot of RAM for some sort of software function. I'm thinking maybe it might actually be true that Kinect 2.0 is going to ship with all 720's

My argument is and always has been that 4GB is enough...for now.

Things change and as long as they hope to get out of consoles (8/9 years on the current gen) it's silly to think that 4GB will always be enough.

I am sure in 2004/5 MS and Sony thought 512Mb was more than enough and by todays standards that is laughably bad. Developers have said that is not enough to do everything they would like to do these days.

As cheap as ram is it would make sense to "future proof" a console as best you can and at least add 2-4 more GBs.

From what I posted in my previous post it seems like Microsoft's extra RAM is going towards Software/Kinect 2.0.

I don't know, if that's true I can't really see 8GB of slower RAM being any more beneficial than 4GB of faster RAM dedicated only to gaming.

This dude really just say 4gb of ram (system and gpu combined) is good enough for gaming PCs?
