LSU might be better off without exiting underclassmen Glenn Guilbeau

BATON ROUGE — No matter how one looks at it, 10 underclass members of LSU’s 2012 football team leaving a year early for the NFL Draft is not good news.
note: warning! negatigahs, NOT FOR YOU!
edit/add for stupids:
The 2012 Tigers, largely because of the some of the above names, had gotten fat literally and figuratively.
The number of players who were not as good in ’12 as in ’11 was startling. Neither Mingo nor Montgomery put up the numbers in ’12 they did in ’11. Montgomery, at times, looked out of shape. Remember when Coach Les Miles benched him early in the season for Lavar Edwards? Remember when Miles benched Wing in the season opener because of a hamstring and used Keehn? Wing didn’t have a hamstring injury. Wing also did not have the spectacular season in ’12 he had in ’11.
Reid did not play as well in ’12 as he did in ’11. He was hurt by the loss of cornerback Tyrann Mathieu, who was kicked off the team permanently in August for continually failing tests for marijuana and has entered the draft. Reid was also hurt by the loss of cornerback Morris Claiborne, who entered the draft after ’11. Anyone would have been hurt by not having such talented teammates near him, but Reid should not have been a first team All-American last season.

Well fricking duh. It's not some revelation that we'd be better with experienced players staying.
You want to whine and cry about it? Go ahead. I don't think it's gonna help the situation much however.

What is his point? Is anybody claiming that LSU is a BCS favorite with all the declarations? Or is he saying that LSU's program is in trouble?
The first is obvious that LSU will need the young guys to step up big. The second is trolling.

I'm not worried about next season. LSU constantly has top ten recruiting classes and recruits kids that are ready to play, not players that will be ready in 3 years. LSU played the 2nd most freshman in the country last season and most of them got significant playing time/starts.
Basically says every junior leaving Had disciplinary issues or played worse in 2012, than they did in 2011.
New blood and competition may be a good thing for us.
Doesnt mention much about minter, he's the exception.
I agree about some of the players.
Our questions for 2013 are left tackle and Dline. That's it.

Don't usually agree with Guilbeau but this makes a lot of sense.

Not saying they will win the National Championship, but LV only has 6 teams with lower odds to win the championship than LSU.

Nail, meet hammer.
My friend is all worried about next year because all of the young talent. I brought up the fact that Simon was the only non-freshman CB last year and that we did pretty well in that department. Were we great? No, but did we suck? No.
Chavis will not let us down.

That is a positive perspective of the current mess. Hopefully that's the gospel.

Exactly and we have some really good CBs coming in this year as well. I think Mills will be a better cover corner in 2013 than Simon was in 2012. Also, Ronald Martin played very well in his time in 2012. Reid was a good player and made some of the most memorable plays in recent memory on defense in his time at LSU, however, he took a lot of bad angles last year and looked to be a step off at times. I think Ronald Martin with Craig Loston will actually make for a very solid set of safeties.

Amen brother.

i'm not overly worried either due to amount of youth on this team in '11.
edit: oh and also i don't read guilbeau anymore. negative or postive.

I have said this all along. New influx of hungry talent will be good. If they gel, we will be fine

I agree

I agree. We needed to change over the core of the team.
Between 01/09 and the heartbreaking loss to Bama this year, I think the baggage on that for group was too much.
Just start anew.
