Local academy had boxes of 230gr Remington JHPs for $31.99/ box.

Academy is the equivalent of dicks/ctd to me. Went by at like 6pm, wasnt a soul buying ammo but me. I wanted a box each of .45 auto in monarch fmj for the range and hornady critical defense for around the house. Wouldnt sell me both even though they had lots. I can understand 1 box per, but 1 box per caliber is fricking retarded.

Ive heard that they put trash bags to cover the view of the ammo on the counter in the morning....that shite is petty if you ask me. Ive never seen that, but someone posted a pic the other day.
To me that is enough stupid arse power trip bullshite to make me never want to shop there again

Thats kind of an unfair comparison. Limited the amount of ammo you buy is hardly price gouging and caving to liberal pressure.

I suppose I should have worded it differently, all i meant was I don't really care to shop there. There's no sense in stopping by for twenty rounds of either range or self defense ammo, and not both when that's what I need.

I was in line at 6:30am but there was only about 10-15 of us until around 7:30 when everyone started showing up.
they opened at 8:00am.
I will probably go by there again on thursday morning, I get off work at 6:00am so I just go there and sit around and shoot the shite with the older guys there until they open the doors.

Yea, I may wake up and hop in line before class tomorrow but not sure. I got burned out at getting there at 6:45 and being 4-6 in line, losing out on the couple ammo cans or bricks of .22.

I've been training my replacement for the last 2 months. So my self-regulated, on-shift, TD-surfin' time has been greatly diminished because of that.

This will only be a semi-hijack since it pertains to ammo that I purchased as a direct result of this thread... I see where people are trying to get $140 on Armslist for a 1000 count box of M22 we picked up a week or two ago.
