Are we to hide our joy because of another hated franchise's misery?

In just six seasons as Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints, Sean Payton has established himself as one of the most successful coaches in the National Football League during this span. Since coming to New Orleans, Payton has led the Saints to their first Super Bowl title in franchise history and three division titles. During his tenure, he has compiled a 67-37 record and his teams have reached the postseason four times. Payton was hired as the 14th head coach in Saints history on Jan. 18, 2006 after being a member of the Dallas Cowboys staff since 2003.
Through this six-year span, Payton holds the franchise’s top winning percentage (.644) for a Saints head coach. Only four NFL clubs have more than the Saints’ 67 victories during this period, with just one NFC team securing more wins. The win total is the most during any six-year span in Saints history and the third-most by an NFL coach during this period. Over the past three seasons, the Saints have posted a 37-11 regular season mark, tied for best in the NFL. Payton’s posted a 5-3 (.625) mark in the postseason after the team had won only one playoff game in franchise history prior to his arrival.

Smith is 1-5 in the Playoffs.Ultimately, Mike Smith is the head coach of this team and while he gets credit for the wins, he must assume responsibly for the losses. Smith is running out of excuses and really needs to find a way to get the Falcons to the Super Bowl or he will quickly become known as the next Marty Schottenheimer.

Oh and this too....

Since 2001, the San Francisco 49ers were just 1-27 when trailing by 17 or more points. Until yesterday. Sunday marked the biggest comeback in NFC Championship history.

i know you're hurting right now , but is this a serious question.
Our worst defense in NFL history did pretty well against the dirty birds, now we're getting the best coach in the league back

We lost to the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Frustrated but happy with where my teams at currently.
You?

Wow, I never expected DoubleDown to be such a butthurt.
Just a few reasons why I would rather be a Saints fan instead of ATL
-Drew Brees
-Sean Payton
-We own ATL
-We've won more than one playoff games
-We don't have to root for fools such Mike Smith, Roddy White, Dunta Robinson

Your list might be a bit longer, chief.

At the end of the year there will only one team and fan base happy. Congratulations, you are now 1 or 30 teams who will not experience that. As a fan, I have experienced that feeling. Have you?

I don't see the big deal here. Were Falcon fans going to rub it in our faces if they had won? Of course. Stands to reason that they should expect to get crap back since they lost.

Yeah, me too, but damn that one is the worst for falcon fans
Their best season under smith/Ryan is a complete waste of their time and is a massive failure

quote: Edit: I should say both teams worst fans are equal.
I realize you are trying to be judicious about this, but this is absolutely untrue When the coons get knocked out of the playoffs, when have you EVER seen a bunch of fans ranting at those pussy arse saint fans like we're still in it Every Atl fan I know is painfully aware of our place in the NFL world. Very little shite talking in general unless its provoked by some dumb arse Panther or Saint fan Even when the Saints were on their putrid losing streak early this season, those baghead motherfrickers were all up in EVERY SINGLE FALCON GAME THREAD bashing and hating. Like hateful little fat kids throwing rocks at someone enjoying a nice picnic
Okay fess up, who dun it..

It's amazing how the Saints are in the heads of the Falcons' players & fans. I wonder why that is....
