Difference between Franchi and Benelli

I have a new Franchi 12 ga and the receiver and barrel are stamped Benelli, as well as the box and all the papers. I'm assuming one owns the other? What are the differences. I have another older Franchi that doesn't say Benelli and is recoil operated. Who knows some history on these?

I love my Franchi, my first was a Brescia A handed down from my pow pow. Got a new one three years ago. It kicks like a mule but shoots a great pattern and is an awesome rice field/goose gun where you need a bit longer range.

Yeah. Both of mine kick like hell. They're light. Guess that's why

I think a parent company owns all of them...Benelli, Franchi, Stoeger. Is it Beretta?

Yeah, I think that's right along with Uberti and Sako.

I'm sure a benelli has more stainless and heat treated stuff in it than the lower end franchi and stoeger stuff, but in principal they function exactly the same.
