IDK..how many X and O's can you really teach with this team of holdovers from TJ?

Those holdovers were 2-2 in the SEC at this point last year.

Hamilton being the X factor there, but Johnny has some of his recruits in there, two of whom are seeing starters minutes, and a couple of others who see spot minutes but just aren't ready now and look like they have some work to do to be significant contributors down the road.

Coleman has not stepped up as the competition has and Carmouche has had varying success and struggles in the 3 conference games he's played.

Most sec games are winnable. Its not like we are getting blown out in every game. We've had our chances, but couldn't hit shots at the right time. Everybody panicking thinking we'll go winless need to go get a drink and settle down. We will do ok the rest of the year as long as we can finally start making shots in the final minutes of games. Our press is as good as anybody's and we will be a very dangerous team in the sec tournament because of it.

Every single one of our losses has gone to the final minute, except BSU of course.

I agree for the most part T.

The SEC is very down and there are several more winnable games.

The rub is that we've already lost all 3 winnable games we've had and 2 of those to teams that probably before last night most folks who follow SEC basketball thought were the worst.

We're not going to go winless. I wouldn't say I'm panicking, but I'm disappointed. I did think that the NIT was a possibility before conference play started, and now that looks to be out the window. And that's disappointing because I think if we take 2 of those 3 winnable games the possibility is very much alive.

The NIT is not where we want, but it was really the only realistic goal for us this year IMHO, and this underperforming in the early season SEC schedule probably killed that.

The only thing left for us to hope for now is that we can get better as the season goes, perform at least to par and maybe even overperform in a game or two and get an unexpected win.

You've identified the problem Tigrlee. The curse of Toonces. It's like that damn goat with the Cubs.

Exorcism Wednesday for the A&M game and the winning begins.

Tgr4ever all over this thread early and often supporting the team and contradicting all the naysayers. Not saying that LSU is awesome, but with all of the negativity posted in this thread after our rough SEC start, it's nice to see tgr4ever's optimism come true. Wasn't JOB hurt at the beginning? His injury and dropping those early games might be what keeps us out of the Big Dance this year.
