I say yes! Give the man a chance. This team is still disadvantaged. Our guards are undersized. We don't have a formidable front line. Our freshmen have some growing to do. Only time and 2013's recruiting class will tell!

STFU!

the guy is bringing in a top 10 recruiting class in his FIRST year as head coach! It is way too soon to make a judgement call on Jones, imo he has a 3 year window to prove his worth.

Now:

Absolutely. He was a home run.

How much was really expected? We got optimistic after beating seton hall and hanging with Marquette, but seriously, we have size, length, and athleticism waiting in the wings.

CJJ has us with a top 10 recruiting class.

You're a joke. Did you expect to set the world on fire with what Trent left?

Don't worry. Phil Jackson will be here before you can say "Trent Johnson".

Too early to tell but there is a chance LSU may only win 1 possibly 2 SEC games this season. He'll get 3 seasons to turn it around after his recruits are playing. But Jones can forget fan support now. Gymnastics will outdraw this program the rest of the season.

Sorry we've been able to have success in more sports than you. Maybe you should call another timeout.

He was a great hire. He doesn't have the players to run his system correctly. Anyone who didn't expect a bad season this year was dreaming

It's too early to judge him, but he was definitely not a home run hire. No team wanted him after 12 seasons at NT. There's a reason noone here was excited about him when we were searching.
He may turn out to be a good coach, but he was a settle hire.

I wonder how nega-tigers will respond to this

yes. coach JJ gets a free pass this year due to TJ's recruits.

Let JJ recruit for a year or two and then we will see how good of a coach he is

So if we win 0 sec games this year, which is quite possible, is he still a great hire?

I think we give every coach 5 years to turn it around and another 5 years for the coach after him, etc. I am too old to expect 4 more coaches to do just that. That's 20 years.

In fact I do, sir. Top 10 recruiting class coming in next year. Print the shirts!

this is a big deal this isn't football, I think sometimes fans put basketball at football standards and that is just stupid. LSU basketball right now is like the Kentucky of Football. They have a good year every once and a while and the rest of the time they absolutely suck. Get use to it.

Is 5 conference games too long?

I don't really know if any fans will be around to find out. I suppose it would depend on the amount of ineptness one can take.

I say he was a home run, at least for LSU. Don't think we could have pulled in Phil Jackson.
