guess you know more than every recruiting service & 99% of the college football coaches
people in the know know this kid is the real deal. Great pickup. Could be the star of this recruiting class by the time all is said and done. NFL talent. WAy more upside than OBJ and Landry combined.

So why did lsu offer him?
quote:
Big bump = 0 star to 2 or 3 Star only because he signed with LSU. If he signed with LA Tech, he still would have been bumbed to a 2 star because all DIV 1 signees get 2 stars regardless.
What don't you idiots get about this staff's recruiting ability?

I am happy that the staff is busy filling needs in this class. A top five rated class would be a bonus IMO.
quote:
Huh??? JL, OBJ, AJ, Dural, Boone, Wright, Dickson....... we'll be fine next year. Leslie isn't out of play yet either. 2014 is a good WR class. This kid is not a desperate offer.
Don't try and use logic and facts. The guy is just being a butthurt pussy about miles. You have to lol at morons like this that doubt the recruiting and talent evaluations of this staff.

While the offer sheet is unimpressive, I think he is a classic late bloomer. Unfortunately, I think this offer means we're out for all the JUCO WRs we were looking at.
I think this is wrong. Leslie has posted on Twitter he'll be at LSU in June.

That is indeed, good news.

Here is the thread.
We may be hedging our bets. To me, when he says he'll be there in June, that means he is taking like a half-summer session course (or two).

watched the video and VERY impressed with this kid. Add in the fact that he just started playing ball as a junior and it makes it better. I think we will be talking about what a steal this kid was in a couple years...

He looks great in that video. I'll throw out a Colston comparison as far as potential goes!

This is a good pick up this kid seems to be a hard worker and has some pretty good run blocking skills

After seeing the highlights, the only questions seems to be his speed. He is a natural catching the ball. He catches it with his hands and goes up and gets it with ease.
He seems like a long strider so he may be deceptively fast.
quote:
Umm, no. However, I do follow recruiting really close. I don't live in La. So, it's hard for me to get excited about someone I haven't heard of. Much like Chuck Baker.
I follow recruiting also and there are 100+ teams i could not name one commit they have. They must all suck. Besides Spears has been talked about a lot over the last month so you mist not follow closely since his name has popped up on every recruiting site.
quote:
The one saving grace here is he has only played one year of football.
I would pass on him. He is not very fluid in his cuts or in the open field and doesn't show tremendous speed. Average size, but does seem very natural catching the ball.
If he is the best we can field at WR, then we will be in trouble down the road. LSU is an elite program and I don't see him being that caliber.
My comments when it was rumored we were offering him...

Aggressive off the line of scrimmage and great hands. Reminds me of a young Dwayne bowe......and bowe after eye surgery.

Everyone keeps comparing him to Armand Williams and I think that's a fail.
I see him as a De Bryant clone. I saw Dez in real life and this kid has that same ability to track a ball and also go up and get it at any point
He is defiantly raw and needs some polishing but he has every skill set needed to contribute if not this year in the next two years. My only concern was top end speed. He was jogging a lot when I wanted to see that separation
Great pick up for LSU.
For the record. I was nervous about this one until I saw the highlight film.

Just a highlight film but I liked what I saw. Wonder what his lowlight film looks like!
