I hunted French Settlement for a couple of years. The guy's whose property is was told me he's never seen deer get nocturnal like they do in LP. So much pressure there.

I've hunted LP a lot and this is absolutely true. Between the amount of hunters and the outlaws. The huntin gets slow, especially late in the year.

Dude I feel your pain. Seen two deer total this & last yr, and both on same morning in fact. 25-30 hunts with 0 deer. Hunting more than 3-4 times in a row without seeing a deer is no fun...

Man, I would crap my pants if I went two seasons without a deer.

I start getting cranky if my deer haven't shown up an hour after getting in the stand.

Maybe your stand is in a bad spot like close to where they are bedding down?

I went 20 years without a deer

Got my first one this year.
I can say w upmost authority that where you hunt is more important that how often or how long you hunt.

Got me one finally last night. Had what I thought was a big doe come out at the back of my foodplot around 6 yesterday evening. I had already told myself coming into the hunt that I'd be dropping almost anything reasonable that walked out since it would be my last hunt of the year and I've been desperate as shite for some meat. Put a good neck shot on it at about 75 yards and it dropped on the spot. Didn't realize until I approached the deer that I had shot a 110# spike. Had I known that it was a spike I probably would have let it walk but I got some meat nonetheless. Really glad that I was to end my slump. I'll be much more optimistic now going into next season. I know that I'll be slammed for putting such a small buck on the ground, but I've been itching to pull the trigger for 3 years now......

No shame in killing a spike man. Meat in the freezer.

I can't sit that long. May be a lot of the reason that I hardly see any deer.

I was sick to my stomach when I saw it was a small buck but I felt much better after cleaning him and seeing the ice chest full of meat

it's sorta like, you have to be rewarded or given something along to be able to stick with something... If you buy your license, and it's legal for the state and your club or lease or whatever, ain't a dang thing wrong with it...
