Take an after-thought of kid out of HS, coach him up, and send him off to the NFL in the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft. Because if Barrow moves to MLB, is leader of D, & stays injury free, he's gonna blow up like those before him. Kelvin Sheppard & Perry Riley, not THAT highly recruited. Chief coached them up & now they're ballin in the league. Minter, same thing. Lamin is just next MLB up!!

Not sure I would qualify the recent LBs as after-thoughts.

Is he moving inside. I hope not, he looked great IMO outside.

Were they highly recruited or highly rated coming out of HS? They certainly aren't after-thoughts now, but who projected them doing this well in the NFL when they got to campus?

I think you can count #11 and Perry Reily as average recruits that excelled under Chavis as both guys were 3*.

I know that people don't put faith in the recruiting sites but they certainly know more than I do. Hail the Chief! He's an incredible DC

Minter was a 4 star recruit and one of the top ILB in his class.

I've just seen it posted on here, but it makes sense to have some leadership & experience at the MLB spot. Not sure Feist is ready

Moving Barrow to the middle means Chavis can get the faster more athletic LBs like Kwon and Debo on the field at the other two LB spots.

I think we see Phillips get some time inside as well.

Barrow will be the leader in the middle. Some people don't realize that he also had 104 tackles this year. He has a nose for the ball which leads to being a great Mlb.

I agree. He was all over the field this year and overshadowed by bigger names that he really outperformed.

Really look forward to seeing him next season.

I was impressed with his abilities the first time he stepped on the field against North Carolina, you could see the linebacker instinct. That seems like so long ago

Riley never received any praise from the fans. Sheppard was looked at too lite play MLB when he first made he switch. People were bitching cus bama had 260lb lbs and all ours are under 230lbs. No one saw the type of season minter or barrow would have.

So yes these guys were an after thought. In fact when Sheppard moved to the middle everyone said that would be the weak spot on the defense. People bitched about recruiting a 3* lb out of georgia.

Fans really know nothing.

We've got a ton of talent and youth to play outside. I think he needs to make the move...and I think the OP is right. We will all look at Barrow differently than we are looking at him now by the end of the year next year.

Seems like we have more depth outside though so it might make sense to move him inside

I get what you're saying but Barrow was the #22 inside LB in the nation out of HS not exactly chopped liver lol
