I'd rather see something involving the east front.

I was gonna post this yesterday but got side tracked.

Should be another epic show.

I have a feeling it will be a bit better than The Pacific but not as good as BOB.

The Pacific, while good, bounced around too much for the first few episodes before really getting good in the back half.

BOB was absolutely perfect. The Pacific was alright and there were about three episodes that I could skip right over.

Interesting statistic from that link:

The Eighth Air Force lost more men in WW2 than the entire U.S. Marine Corps. I did not know that.

i actually loved the Pacific and BoB equally. I thought BoB started off slow and didnt get going until halfway through.

everyone on here always craps on the Pacific but i thought it was very well done

Why don't they do a miniseries about WWI?

I liked them equally too. But I'm partial to The Pacific. My paw paw was in the marines and fought in the pacific. I loved watching it.

They shouldn't. I probably would have loved The Pacific had I been able to keep from wanting it to be as good as BoB.

Probably the same deal here.

The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner

by Randall Jarrell

From my mother's sleep I fell into the State,
And I hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze.
Six miles from earth, loosed from its dream of life,
I woke to black flak and the nightmare fighters.
When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose.

Finally. I was waiting on a movie/series on the Eighth Air Force since Memphis Belle came out years ago. My father was a B-17 pilot in the Eighth Air Force.
