What is the board's opinion of him? I know I'm late to the game, but "Locked out of Heaven" is a great song. I also saw him on SNL. Dude is talented and versatile.

Lyrics, puerile, and reflect the dumbing down of society as a whole. His musical taste or influences, cannot be negated, he´s doing some interesting things with interesting things which were done in the past. He updates them well, and has ´verve´. I hate how the ´dumbing down´of society is progressing at such an exponential rate. He is a prime example. I do like his musical influences and choices, however.

Yeah, I thought he was more of a teeny bopper act. Maybe he's growing as an artist for the better. Doubt I'll go buy a CD or anything.

A few weeks ago I heard a song in a cab and remarked it sounded like The Police. My friend told me it was Bruno Mars. That's the only thing I know about him.

In the top albums of 2012 thread he got my pop vote mainly because Locked Out of Heaven might as well be a new Police song. A few songs on the Unorthodox Jukebox album are straight pop garbage, but some of it ain't bad, which is more than I can say for any other top 40 album last year.

Unbelievable talent. Production seems to hide his gifts at times.

I agree. There's also a little bit of MJ in him, the better parts like Jackson 5/early 80s Michael Jackson.

Couldn't care less about most of his material but locked out of heaven is such a catchy song, heard it now knowin it was by him and loved it, so I guess I like a Bruno mars song.

i hate pop music in general. i thought some of adele was undeniable talent tho, and i feel the same of bruno mars. i loved him on snl. and not b/c i'm gay. get ready for him to play james brown in the biopic being produced. (looking for a lead, his name in mix)
